Went to the Westfield Manukau City branch and got shocking service. took them 10-15 mins to even serve my mum & I we ended up going for gels for the first time never got explained the procedure of the treatment instead they just sat speaking in their own language then when I asked the difference between shellac & gel nails she couldn't answer me she just said there the same thing. Was really vague when I asked her for information about there treatments. She did a really quick job hardly filed nor shaped my nails or even asked me what shape I'd like. I was getting a french polish & the fished job wasn't at all a great finish- two of my nails had bubbled & later on the day inbetween going there and coming home my mums nail chipped- not impressed at all :(

I went and got a set of gel nails, they didn't soak off my nails, instead they were wripping them of, many times after I told them that it hurt, that she was wriping my natural nail, they would talk in their language, and didn't take any notice of me. But my biggest concern was how they shared the instruments with 2 clients, at no time did they clean them, and when i spoke to them about this, they pretended to not understand. Very un- professional service. I'll be telling my friends to stay will clear of them. They are not trained nail teach's.

I have also had 2 terrible experiences at Un-ProfessioNail! One in Porirua mall where i was having one acrylic removed she fully ripped my nail so bad that you could see the blood welling under the acrylic that was still stuck to my finger, then proceeded to tell me that its not bad & just continue!! I just left & went to a real, trained & qualified lady who was mortified at the state of my finger. The second time was at the Lower Hutt store, where yes there was giggling etc. The funny thing is because my husband is chinese (and i understand, but cant speak it) i understood what the giggling was about. Lets just say their references & insults to some of their customers would have many people in tears. Upon confronting them about their behaviour (rather nicely) i was told i am white so i did not hear or understand them properly!! Would NEVER EVER EVER GO BACK & ANYONE WHO IS THING ABOUT IT, DON'T BOTHER. 98% of ProfessioNail staff are untrained, unqualified & obnoxious.

Unfortunately, I agree with both reviews. I came online to look for a website and contact details but as I can't find any, i can vent more publicly! Had a terrible experience at the lower hutt branch, second and last time as this time they left 3 of my fingers marked/bleeding in what was the fastest manicure ever. Terrible customer service and obviously the giggling happens in every branch. Good news for their competition!

I agree with kitsune, you definitely get what you pay for here. My experience getting a manicure and pedicure was similar and the girl even made my foot bleed by being too rough. If you are going for a pampering experience don't go here but if you want a quick and cheap job it might be ok. The article about the dangerous chemical used for acrylic nails, methyl methacrylate (MMA)was published on consumer.org in May 06. It stated that MMA was found on their chemicals list but Professionail has now given the Department of Labour a declaration that it doesn't use MMA.

What a terrible place. I went to the Riccarton branch of Professionail because of its prices - but you get what you pay for. I went there four times and got terrible service every time! On every occassion I was not talked to, even when I tried to make small conversation. They would also talk in a foreign language and giggle and look at me. They probably were never talking about me but it still made me self-conscious. I have also read that the stuff they use on their acrylics is illegal in other countries because it's poisonous! Then today I went there to get a voucher for my Mum for a pedicure and manicure. Pedicures are $40 and manicures are $30 but if you buy both you pay $60. However, I was confronted by a very rude girl; I asked if she could just write them out on two seperate vouchers as I was giving my Mum the pedicure and my partner was giving her the manicure. She simply said "No." I asked a few questions about why this was not possible, and then asked if I could talk to someone else about it. Again, she replied "No". I was so angry! I told her I would not be coming back, and she stared at me blankly and said "Ok". That was it! I will definitely be telling my friends to go elsewhere from now on. NOT IMPRESSED!

These guys in lower hutt are very unprofessional. Completely opposite to their NAME ! It is extremely rude to speak in your own language and giggle and make fun of others while your customers are sitting in front of you. They are always in a rush. Very rude customer service. I got a manicure and pedicure done today and I was shocked to see how rude they were all the customers. They constantly talk in their own language plus they are so harsh on your nails. The lady was not even looking at my feet when she was doing my pedicure but she was more interested in talking to her work mates. NEVER EVERY GOING BACK. I would not reccoment this place at all.
