3rd January 2011 Surprisingly poor - service good but food bad- medium steak was very rare, belly pork jus cold, crackling burned, chefs red curry a pitiful portion - my chicken ? Arguably better from a chicken take away. Main chef not working - go figure. Ambience ok but view is of burger king, not lake...

2nd September 2010 One of my favourite places to eat! The food is award winning stuff and the service is fantastic too. Really enjoyed every meal I've had at Plateau & recommend them 100%

19th August 2010 WOW, what a great place to eat. We came in for lunch, had the Venison Burger and wife had the Monteiths Fish n Chips, both were great, but even better were the staff. Great service, friendly, the type of people you can have a good laugh with. It was our first time there but they treated us like they had known us forever, good feeling. We are planning on going back for dinner in the restaurant on our next visit to Taupo. Thanks Plateau, wish we could have stayed longer.

3rd November 2009 I had heard that this well appointed restaurant had been relatively consistent in the past 5 years but had stepped up to the mark with some minor refurbishment and a new chef. We weren't disappointed, great service and care taken with the food. In fact enjoyed it so much came back the next night to have a bar meal, do try the wild boar ragout.
