16th February 2012 Always head straight to the belgian bar in takapuna, love the amazing range of beer and have recently found that they have upgraded their menu which is a huge improvement, also a great change of staff from previous years.
Favourite place now with all the improvements! Keep it up!
29th October 2013 We went in July 2013, using a coupon. We had the seared scallops, the prawns done three ways, and the salt and pepper squid, with the fries as side dishes. The scallops were large and tender, but were raw - just warmed through. Certainly not seared. The squid was lovely, although it needed to be shared, as the deep fried taste was quite pervasive. The prawns were large, and two of the three flavours were delicious - the sesame seeds, however, were nasty. We ended up peeling off the outer layer and just eating the prawn inside. The fries were okay, just. The beer was good.
Service was prompt, but after being served we were ignored. We had to wait for several minutes to attract the server's attention to check we had not exceeded our voucher when we left.
Overall, we would not come back - a pity, as we buy vouchers to discover new places to eat. A missed opportunity for Blankenberge.

30th September 2010 Partner and I love to stop in here for a beer and a bucket of mussels in the weekend. The pots of mussels are always delicious and the beer selection is fantastic. Would recommend for an afternoon beer and snack in the sun or casual catch up drinks with mates after work. Always friendly and welcoming bar staff too.

4th November 2008 This place used to do the best breakfast in Takapuna but sadly it is now lacking. Pretty unhappy to pay $20 for a burger that is a supermarket bought pattie and once they even ran out of eggs for the breakfasts - how?? The food lets them down but the beer selection helps make up for it. Improve the food and we'd be back.
