19th March 2012 After moving to Helensville recently, we checked out all the takeaways in the area that do simple fish and chips. Budget is important to us, so is service, quality and also bang for our buck ie. getting enough for our money to feed two adults, a ten year old and two toddlers. We recommend Fay's Place above all chip shops locally. Good quality fish and chips, price is best in the township and you get enough for what you pay for. Seemingly run by a variety of young people, the service is straight forward, friendly enough and there's never too long a wait. There are some pretty tasty cabinet morsels to add to the order sometimes for variety, deep fried chocolate bars if you feel like it and the burgers were fine (believe me we have had some bad burgers). So a good all rounder, nothing super flash, but ticked all the boxes better than other establishments did!
