Kapiti Tours offers daily trips to one of New Zealands valued nature reserves Kapiti Island.
Kapiti Island is one of a few relatively accessible island nature reserves. It provides an opportunity for people to observe birds that are either rare or absent from the mainland, and to see the recovery of vegetation.
Come and have a close encounter with the endangered Takahe, Stitchbird and Kaka. Walk with the Weka and talk with New Zealand's beautiful Kereru (Wood Pigeon). Learn all about the rare Little Spotted Kiwi and the South Island Brown Kiwi.
Discover the magic and uniqueness of Kapiti Island with us.
We depart daily from the Kapiti Boating Club at Paraparaumu Beach at 9am, providing weather and sea conditions are favourable and we have the minimum amount of passengers.
Our fast ferry 'Te Aihe' seats 30 passengers per trip
You need to obtain a landing permit for the particular day you wish to visit Kapiti Island from the Dept of Conservation.
