Switch Accounting is dedicated to helping the owners of small to medium size businesses manage their accounting and tax.

Early on as a company we realised that taxation issues are a real challenge for business owners, who are also busy with the day-to-day operation of their business. That provided the incentive to develop, over years of working within the industry, customised solutions for their specific problems.

Switch Accounting is made up of a team of experienced accountants, taxation and business advisers who understand the specific needs of small and medium sized businesses.

Our goal is to provide you with a no-nonsense, down to earth accounting solution, in addition to being the most approachable and friendly accounting people in town.
How it all started

Switch Accounting is owned and operated by Brian McMillan and Chris Gould. In June 2004, Brian and Chris purchased a shop front accounting franchise. Their intention was to fill a gap in the market by providing dedicated services for small businesses that they felt were neglected by traditional accounting firms.

In January 2007, Brian and Chris moved away from the existing franchise to form their own brand, Switch Accounting. As part of the re-branding they introduced to the business, some new ideas and a range of innovations to further increase the service levels to their clients. In April 2007 Switch Accounting relocated to bigger and brighter premises at 235 Moray Place, Dunedin.

Chris is born and bred in Dunedin, and was educated at Kings High School. After completing a NZ Diploma in Business at Otago Polytechnic he went on to complete a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Accounting from Otago University.

Brian is originally from Invercargill and has been based in Dunedin since 1996. Brian moved to Dunedin to complete a Bachelor of Commerce Degree majoring in Accounting at Otago University.
