A friendly, warm & extremely clean lodge in a handy central location. This is a fun hostel for independent travellers/ families and groups and YOU GET ALL THESE FOR FREE: tea/coffee, 24hr internet (winter), BBQ, sauna, bag storage, herb garden, CD burning & movie library. All linen provided, bookings office, off street parking, modern en-suite rooms and female share rooms available, great hot showers & fantastic winter and group deals. Booking advisable.

Can't say this place really sucks but it did for me. They have this room (I think the number is 23) which had one door no windows nor ventilation fitting 4 people. This resulted in a night with headache and stink. When I complaned about it the following morning the recepionist was quite offensive and kept repeating nothing could be done about it. I would recommend to avoid this hostel until they close this STINKING, LACK OF OXYGEN DEATHTRAP (remember: one door only). I doubt whether this hostel conforms to new zealand safety standards.
