Things to do
There are short walks in the vicinity of the Lodge and along the shore of Lake Monowai including the popular Nature Walk " a 30 minute self-guided walk starting at the Lodge. The historic Monowai Power Station is a few minutes drive and the Borland Road takes you up to Borland Saddle for spectacular views of Fiordland National Park.
Nature
One of the attractions to the Borland area is its natural history. Plants and animals, protected by the Fiordland National Park and the access road to Borland saddle. Go here for more information for nature-lovers.
Education
The Clifden Caves, 30 minutes drive from Borland, is popular with school groups. Your hour underground introduces all the elements that make caves exciting.
