13th January 2008 For the last 4 days we have visited Outram Glen for a refreshing swim and have discovered close by McArthurs Berry Farm. Initially we stopped for a real fruit berry icecream with your choice of 1,2 or 3 different fresh berries mixed with either icecream or yogurt and they are to die for! While there I browsed the fine selection of fruit and produce. My fav's were the whole lettuces (which have a decent heart unlike some sold in supermarkets!) gorgeous spring onions ( which were fresh and crisp unlike the wilted sad ones in the supermarket and finially a box of fresh, straight from the ground, new potatoes. Far superior products in every way. Worth the drive out there just to get my hands on some decent produce! Oh and don't miss the fresh boysenberries they are huge and juicy- we had eaten them before we got home!
