23rd July 2010 Best pizza/pasta in Auckland! I have been coming to this cafe for over 10 years and will keep coming back for the great atmosphere, wholemeal pizzas and the BEST pasta in Auckland - all at a great price.
At Papa's we make our special recipe wholemeal pizza dough fresh every day and when in season, grow our own herbs to use in our homemade pizza sauce and pasta recipes.
We make our pizzas with a thin crusty base the same way we have for 25 years. Sure it's not the traditional Italian way, but you keep coming back!
Our desserts are lovingly made on the premises apart from the gelato as no one makes better gelato than Ginelli's!
If you haven't been here before, Papa's is easy to find.
We are at 61 Sandringham Road, on the corner of Rossmay Terrace.
Close to the city with plenty of free parking nearby, except on rugby nights!
You don't have to live in Kingsland or Sandringham to make Papa's your local, we have regular customers from all across the city.
Note: Papa's Pizza Restaurant is located in a historic building. Wheelchair access is difficult but not impossible. If you have special mobility issues, please contact us and we will do our best to accommodate you.
26th August 2010 This place ain't flash but who cares! The best pizza at Pappa's Pizza in Sandringham ... We come here every year for a Xmas catch up with freelance colleagues. Always a brilliant day out sitting out the back under umbrellas with pizza and wine. Cheap prices .. Perfect for our budget!

23rd July 2010 This is a great pizza place that has been around for years. It has a cozy atmosphere and tasty pizzas. Ingredients are always fresh and the pasta is great as well. I enjoyed the upstairs where you can book for bigger groups. This local gem is well worth visiting.

20th July 2010 Great pizza and really good pizza! Fabulous little BYO. A Sunday favourite of ours and we have also had a few functions upstairs.

15th July 2010 Ive had takeaways from here a few times now and have to say, whatever time they tell you, add at least 20 mins. Every time Ive ordered out Ive had to wait for the meal although Ive arrived at the time advised over the phone. I live nearby and don't feel the pizzas are anything to write home about, however the beef lasagna & meatballs are absolute heaven & if it wasn't for the pastas they do, I wouldn't bother waiting. Really makes me wonder how they are going to cope during the World Cup.

19th July 2010 In response from Papa's Pizza. Apologies to you and any of our customers who wait for takeaways. We do try to be accurate with the cooking times. Unfortunately, sometimes this cannot be helped. From 7pm the restaurant is at full capacity and the takeaways are busy as well. All staff at Papa's Pizza care about our customers and the food we serve. The peak dining and takeaway times are form 7pm to 8pm. We are open from 5pm and turn off the oven at 10pm. Any orders would be alot quicker from 5-7pm or after 8pm.
Papa's Pizza is very busy and popular by the local residents and around the wider parts of Auckland. We are well known for the handmade, wholemeal pizza's as well as the big hearty pasta's. The restaurant has been operating for 26 years and is very well known and loved by many.
We will be refurbishing for the Rugby World Cup next year.
